Setup Dialup Internet
& Email in Mac OS X
Creating
connection and email account
- On your desktop click
on the Apple icon in the upper
left corner. In the menu that drops
down click on System Preferences.

Click on
the Internet icon. The Internet
settings window opens on your screen.
Select the Email tab.
Email Settings
- Default Mail Reader:
Select the email program you want
to use.
- Email Address:
Your metanetis.com (or meta-net.net)
email address.
- Incoming Mail Server:
mail.metanetis.com
- Account Type:
POP
- User Account ID:
Your MetaNet Email Account Name (usually
leave off the @metanetis.com or @meta-net.net)
- Password: Your
password
- Outgoing Mail Server:
mail.metanetis.com
- Click on the Network
icon.

Provider: MetaNet

Telephone
Number: Enter
the local dial-up phone number
for where you live. For Greenwood,
enter 538-0038 and leave the area
code blank. You
can call us or contact support@metanetis.com
if you need help
finding the right number for you.

Alternate
Number: Leave blank.

Account
Name: Your MetaNet username.
Make sure to add @meta-net.net
to your username (if your username
is john, enter the full john@meta-net.net).

Save
Password: Check this option
if you want your Mac to save your
password.

Make
sure "Connect automatically when
starting TCP/IP applications"
is checked.

Click Apply
Now to save the settings.
You can now open a web browser or
email program and be able to connect
to the Internet.
