Setup Dialup Internet
Connection in Windows 2000/2003
Getting to the New
Connection Wizard
- Click on
Start ->Settings ->Control
Panel
- Click on Network and Dialup
Connections.
- Click on Make New Connection.
New Connection Wizard
- Click on Next in the welcome
screen.
Network Connection Type
- Choose the selection on Dialup
to the Internet
- Click on Next.
Getting Ready
- Select I want to set up my
Internet connection manually...
- Click on Next.
Internet Connection
- Leave the selection on I connect
using a phone line and modem.
- Click Next.
Connection Name
- ISP Name: Type in MetaNet
for the ISP Name.
- Click Next.
Phone Number to Dial
- Phone Number: Enter the local
dial-up phone number for where you live. For
Greenwood, enter 538-0038 and leave the area
code blank. You can call us or contact support@metanetis.com
if you need help finding the right
number for you.
Internet Account Information
- Username: Type your Meta-Net
username in small letters. Make
sure to add @meta-net.net to your username (if
your username is john, enter the full john@meta-net.net).
- Password: Type in your
password.
- Confirm password: Type
in your password again.
- Click Next.
Completing the New Connection
Wizard
- You may be asked if you want
to setup an email account now. If you need to
do that, click Yes and Next
and refer to the Outlook Express instructions
for Windows here.
Otherwise click No and Next.
- Click Finish.
You may see the Internet Properties
window at this time. If you do, select Dial whenever
a network connection is not present and then
click OK. If the Desktop has appeared follow the
directions below.
- Click on Start.
- Right click Internet Explorer
at the top of the Start menu and then select Internet
Properties.
- Click on the Connections
tab.
- Select Dial whenever a network
connection is not present.
- Click OK.
You have now set up Windows 2000/2003
to connect to MetaNet. If you would like to set
